Napier City Council embarked on a transformative project in collaboration with Wagners CFT to address critical challenges in street lighting infrastructure. The solution had to overcome issues of corrosion and premature deterioration of traditional galvanised steel poles due to shallow water tables and high chloride levels in the soil. Seeking a sustainable and long-lasting solution, the council chose Wagners CFT Poles, known for their innovative design and extended lifespan of 50 years.
Working closely with Wagners CFT, the project overcame key challenges such as obtaining NZTA network approval and ensuring safe packaging and international transportation of the poles. This required rigorous testing and refining of packing methodologies to minimise damage.
The collaboration between Napier City Council and Wagners CFT has resulted in successful ongoing transformation of street lighting infrastructure in the region.
"Wagners CFT demonstrated their commitment to the projects success by providing an innovative solution and on-site support throughout the entire project."

Wagners CFT was the preferred partner for the project due to their expertise in manufacturing and supplying FRP solutions. Wagners CFT's FRP material offered several advantages, including a design life of 100 years and a coating life of over 40 years. This made it the ideal choice to provide a long-lasting structure that would meet and exceed the client's expectations.
